 Misleading Recover Data for Mac, sound like one could use the programm on a Mac to recover Data. However, I found out that the installation file was and .exe file and thus not usable on mac. This was a surprise to me.

 Great software! I used this software after an external drive that I was using for Time Machine backup had failed. I tried everything to get the drive working again, but nothing worked. I downloaded this software and it ran for about 4 or 5 hours. Soon enough the drive appeared and mounted correctly. Now Im using the drive for back up again

 Recover Data Easy to use and seems to find a lot of the files lost after an inadvertent partition of a vfat drive. However I can do similar things with Testdisk and Photorec, which are GPL tools.

 I had a SATA external disk damaged by an accidental power off and wanted to repair it. I downloaded DRW and attempted to use it. I did not understand that it would not actually save the files unless I had registered. This is not an unreasonable policy but it would be nice to tell people that when the program starts. I am wondering before I buy this software, the trial let me download one file, it was a text file and it opened but was not readable. Is this a problem with all of the files that will be recovered? I am hoping it is just a glitch in the demo version, but I need to know before I spend $90.00!
